The right checks for your plan.

Attendance, pickup coordination and collector checks solve different problems. Here is what each plan includes—and where staff judgement still matters.

What each plan checks

Essentials: Attendance controls

Record who arrived and left, with the kiosk checks your centre chooses.

  • Name selection for check-in and check-out
  • Optional family PIN or staff confirmation
  • Attendance and staff-hours exports

Selecting a name records attendance. It does not verify the adult’s identity.

Set up Essentials

Professional: Pickup coordination and checks

Everything in the Essentials plan, plus family pickup credentials and a staff-ready status workflow.

  • Rotating QR pass or six-digit backup code
  • Staff-ready status shown before release
  • Hall display, parent messages and arrival signals

An “I’m here” signal reports arrival. Staff must still verify the pickup credential.

Set up Professional

Safeguard: Additional handover controls

Everything in the Professional plan, plus checks and records for backup collectors.

  • Centre approval for ongoing backup collectors
  • One-time collector codes and staff photo-ID confirmation
  • Exceptions, release log and audit trail

Staff confirm the ID check before releasing to a backup collector. The app does not verify physical identity for them.

Set up Safeguard

How pickup passes are checked

These checks apply to pickup passes. The Essentials plan does not issue pickup passes.

Expiry

Codes change automatically

Pickup codes rotate on the centre’s configured interval. Old codes expire; a recent screenshot can still work while its code remains valid.

Signature

Invalid codes are rejected

The app checks the signed pass or backup code before offering a pickup result.

Permissions

The guardian must be linked

A parent’s pass is linked to a family account and shows which children that account can access. It does not prove who is holding the device.

Reuse

Used codes are refused

A successful verification consumes that code for its time step. A repeated attempt is refused.

Access

Parents set up pickup access

Families confirm their details and use their own parent access to open a pass. Pickup passes are not included with the Essentials plan.

Readiness

A valid pass is not enough

The child must also be ready. Staff follow the centre’s handover procedure before the child leaves.

From a valid code to a recorded handover

The Safeguard plan adds backup-collector checks and detailed handover records to the Professional plan’s pickup workflow.

  1. Verify the credential

Check the parent’s rotating pass or the backup collector’s one-time code.

  2. Check the pickup permission

Confirm the child is linked to that adult and ready for pickup.

  3. Check the person at the door

On the Safeguard plan, staff confirm a backup collector’s photo ID against the authorised name.

  4. Confirm and review the release

Staff confirm handover. The Safeguard plan provides release and audit records for later review.

A code proves possession of a credential, not the adult’s physical identity. Staff still check the person at the door and follow the centre’s authorisation procedures.

Keep the record in context

Attendance and staff-hours exports are included on every plan. The Safeguard plan adds the release log and audit trail. Staff use their own accounts so actions can be attributed to the account that performed them. A recorded ID confirmation is a staff attestation, not an uploaded copy of the collector’s ID.
