Pickup was never meant to be a guessing game.
Check-in at my kid's program was smooth. Pickup was the mess: coats, clipboards, and staff playing phone tag at the door. I built HandoffCub to make attendance, pickup updates and handover checks easier for staff and families to follow.
Built by a Calgary dad who wanted a clearer pickup routine.
The old pickup loop
One simple pickup turns into a chain of waiting, calls and repeated questions.
Class ends, but pickup is still unclear
Children gather near the door while staff work out who is ready to leave.
Families wait for an update
Parents call or look inside to find out whether their child is ready.
Staff relay the same message
Calls and verbal updates interrupt the people supervising the class.
The handoff depends on memory
A clipboard or a quick conversation has to carry the pickup details.
How HandoffCub helps
A shared view of attendance, readiness and pickup, with controls that match your plan.
Know who is here
Essentials+. See plan details.Record arrivals and departures by name. The Essentials plan does not require parent accounts.
Share when a child is ready
Professional+. See plan details.Staff mark a child ready. The hall display and parent app show the update.
See who is waiting
Professional+. See plan details.Parents send an “I’m here” signal to the desk. It records arrival; it does not authorise release.
Add checks for backup collectors
Safeguard. See plan details. The Safeguard plan adds approved pickup people, staff confirmation of photo ID, and release and audit records.
Less time chasing updates. More attention for the children in your care. Start with attendance, then add the pickup controls and records your program needs.
